Many people who have come to Germany in the recent years are looking for job prospects and would like to work or start a vocational education as soon as possible. Many companies in nursing care and child and youth welfare are looking for suitable and motivated staff. As part of the JobPartner Refugees project, Diakonie Hamburg informs refugees about the social work and nursing professions and advises them in their professional prospects. Diakonie Hamburg offers them access to these professional fields through arrangement of internships, training and work in care institutions.
The 21-year-old Amadou from Guinea is currently undergoing training as a health and nursing assistant, taking on many tasks on his own in the first year of his apprenticeship.
